CPLD was appointed to design the “Library of the Future” located in Dubai a project that is carried out for His Highness Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Library will contain around 300,000 to 400,000 volumes available in the library’s open-access section, as well as private collections of His Highness.
The scope of works included both facade & landscape lighting of an iconic structure inspired by the shape of a Turkish lectern facing the Dubai Creek.
CPLDs proposal was to create a unique night time presentation that could become a landmark for the entire UAE.
Interior lighting of over 66.000sq.m was also part of the scope where dynamic lighting was provided to support human circadian rhythm and create ideal conditions for the visitor. The project is due to completion during 2020.
